Stars and marketing : a love story

"Nespresso, what else ? " Everybody knows this famous advertisement from Nescafé. Of course it would not strike our minds so much if George Clooney was not its chief actor. Nowadays this phenomenon is widely spread as an efficient marketing technique...
Why ?
Of course it is a guarantee that the brand hiring the actor shows its prestige but there is also the fact that big names convey an attractive image. Therefore one has the unconscious feeling to improve when buying a product promoted by a star, and this particularly applies for the star's fan.
Juicy contracts, as much for stars than for brands, are signed, and even if we don't buy, our opinion of the brand is changed.
